Try Try Try Really Tree

Love thinking-treeing
to the dream that is growing
freedom that is growing
trying-yearning growth
that is free
to tree-jut into the sun
that is tree that makes us
universally trying to kiss
the beauty that is trying
to become the beauty itself yes
Look be you yearning
to become very trying itself
making the beauty become
helping that is treeing
into reality
become the very beauty
see the making reality
become the free thought
tree-grow into the free cause
making itself known yes
Hannah Emerson is a nonspeaking autistic poet from Lafayette, New York. Her work has appeared in The Brooklyn Rail, Poetry, The Nation, BOMB Magazine, On Being's Poetry Unbound, as well as her own newsletter The Kissing Nothing We Become. Her chapbook, You Are Helping This Great Universe Explode, was published by Unrestricted Editions in 2020.
